Work Log

From today I am starting a new section on this blog, called “Work Log” and will contain updates on what I am working on right now and how it is going. I got inpsired by some fellow swedish bloggers to do this and I know some of you out there wants me to write posts like this. I will test this for some time and please add your comment if you want to see more of it. Here comes the first one.

Diversify your income is the message Josh Buckley is sending us. This is something that has been discussed much lately, especially after more and more people that has relied on Google for all their income has been banned and lost their only source of income.

“do not put all your eggs in one basket”

Josh Mullineaux has written about Calculated risk taking. I agree with what Josh writes here even if I sometimes believe you should just do it it is of course important to calculate what can be lost and what can be gained from the risk you are taking.

Remote access

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you need to access a file or document on your computer but your away from the office? If you have, then you know the feeling of irritation that arises in such situations.

What you should look for is a remote access solution, that provides you with a service where you can reach all files and documents on your computer wherever you are. One company that provides such a service is RemotePC.com.

RemotePC.com is in my eyes a good competitor to other players in this industry like GoToMyPc. With their competetive prices starting at only $4.95 per month, their 30 day free trial and the massive amount of features they offer, they are absolutely a affordable solution for any small business and can help to improve small business productivity for sure.

The call of the entrepreneur

I have seen this video a couple of times on different blogs, and got to see it again while visiting my mate Adnans blog over a Blogtrepreneur. It is a great video clip, make sure you watch it.

Searching for a loan?

I have always been against taking loans and buying stuff on credit cards, but during the last few years it has become clear to me that it is really a big part of both peoples personal economy and businesses expansion and sometimes survival. I do not know a single house owner that has paid for his house cash, most of them have taken a personal loan from the bank. When you are a house owner you can use your house, which is an asset and take personal secured loans, with your house as the security.

When it comes to businesses I know a lot of startups depends on loans, and their dream would not have come true without a loan. What I want to say with this is that a loan is not always a bad thing, but make sure to think twice before applying for one.

Today I have had a look at the loan information portal “UK Personal Loan Store”, which is an information guide that compares over 250 loan plans and search over 90% of the secure loan market. From their web site you can get a loan quite directly. Make sure to visit their web site for a good read.

The 4-hour workweek

I have read some reviews some time ago about this very interesting book called, The 4-hour work week and today when I was browsing JohnChow.com I found out that he is hosting a contest where you can win a signed copy of The 4-hour workweek book.

Personally I ordered the book today from a local bookstore, an I suggest you go and read more about this book.

Today I am having a look at the company AIM Business Capital, which provides companies with invoice factoring services.

So what does invoice factoring mean? With this service they buy your invoices fromyou, so instead of that you have to deal with your customers they do take that job and risk instead. What you get is instant cash flow and they only take a small fee for the job they do, and is something that is totally worth it in my opinion since you then can avoid all the hassle with customers and focus on more vital parts of your business. In other words a great “tool” for any small business.

To also mention their site it is very easy naviagated and filled with the information you need to get started. I also like the clean and professional look of it.
