Credit Cards - My experience

I have never been a big fan of credit cards at all. The number one reason is that they make you over consume, you use money that you do not really have.

 

Another reason I do not like it is that you almost always have to pay really high interests on the money you use, and that makes your whole shopping experience very expensive.

 

I have one credit card that I use for my company, but I have only used it a couple of times when I really needed it to cover some unexpected costs. I must admit though that at those occasions I often buy something more, just because I can.

 

My advice is to cut your credit cards if they have a high interest rate and monthly cost. If you are looking to get a loan, do look for a card that has got a good payment plan and no interest rates, there are so called 0% credit cards that gives you this advantage and can often be a better choice than a bank loan. If you now have a credit card with high interest rates you can also do a 0% balance transfers, which means you transfer your money to another credit card account with better or zero interest rate.

    Credit cards are great as long as you only buy what you’d normally buy with them and you pay the bill every month in full so as not to run into high interest charges.

    They’re convenient and you get to use the banks money for a month instead of your own.

    But yeah, they can be a huge burden if you don’t use their advantages and get caught up in the debt cycle.
