Get A Community has acquired ForumHype.com

Today I closed a deal to buy a competitor to Get A Community. The site I bought was ForumHype and I got quite a good deal.

 

ForumHype will be merged with Get A Community and ForumHypes customers and writers will be transfered to Get A Communitys system.
Get A Community will offer them an even better service and working enviroment and feel that this is a step to strengthen our position in this industri.

Adwords again and blog update

Adwords again
Today I decided to activate my Adwords account again to get some advertising running.
I set up a few ad campaings for GAC, an I hope they will pay off. I found some related websites to advertise directly on, some big name entrepreneur blogs and some forum networks.

Adsense test

I have decided to test out Adsense. As you might now I have not really got any site that runs Adsense ads, I do not know why I havent experimented with it before but now I feel its time to do it.

 

The site I will use is a media site with video clips, arcade games and pics.
My first goal is to bring in $10 a month within 2 months and my initial investment is $50.

 

I will announce the URL once I have finished it. 

 

My blog is worth what?

I have seen this tool around some and thought I would check it out for my own blog, not that it is accurate in any way but a fun tool anyway. Try it for your site.

Have I been busy lately? To answer that: Yes, busy as hell!
I have been working on some bigger projects lately, improving some old and starting some new. With these new projects I am trying more and more to make them as passive for me as possible, although I have always strived for that I have always ended up working my ass off for every project.

 

One of the wonderfull things with an online business is that you can automatize a website so much that it basicly runs by itself, and for those things you can not automatize you can always hire some one to help you do it. This helps you focus on the vital things in your company and then you can just enjoy your life rest of the time.
Is not that what we all want?

 

I am going to sell of most of my sites I have to focus on some bigger projects so that I can make my work more effecient and as I described above more passive.

Whats up?
Nothing much lately, working on renewing and optimizing some old sites and projects.
Me and Björn have decided to do som major changes on our projects we run under our company Zenia Europe Ltd., since some of them has been major dissapointments. But luckely we are doing good with our outsourcing business, and we are about to launch the website anyday now.

 

I am literaly working my ass off nowadays, and I really have no life at the moment but that is the price we all have to pay for freedom I guess?

 

Andreas gets involved in the music industry
My friend has started a artist management company, and he has asked med to be a part of it. I will handle all the web promotion, and I feel I really have something to deliver here with my team of 50+ writers.

 

Last weekend we went to a Swedish town called Karlstad to check out some of the great bands he is looking to sign and they were really awesome. So a mix of business and pleasure was the result of that weekend, can it be better?

 

GetACommunity.com launch
I have been working and preparing on this site for a couple of months now and its finally coming to and end, its not 100% done yet but I wanted to make it public for my readers to comment.

 

This will be the new version of Forum Pal, and the difference between FP and GAC is that GAC is going to be a more premium, exclusive and broader service than FP.

 

What does this mean then you might think? For you as a customer it means higher quality members and posts. Here are some of the news:

 

• We will now pay our posters more, which motivates them
• New posters will work on test forums before they work on customer forums, this to make sure they can deliver what they say.
• The posters will have to submit more information about themself, so we can put together profiles and statistics to make it possible for you to  hoose what kind of posters you want, with choices like gender, age, interests and so on.

 

Interview =)
I have been interviewed for the first time in my life, and the fun part is that its about my life as an web entrepreneur. The interview is published on the site, Buck Being Normal which is a site with slighty off-beat interviews with those who earn (or aim to earn!) a living from the internet.

Bought a site on eBay =)

I am kind of sad and pissed tonight because I dropped my new IPOD Nano to the ground. It totally messed it up and you can not see anything on the screen but luckily I can still listen to music on it. Besides from this I have some good news to share:

• Need to update mySQL

 

Bought a site on eBay
I never thought I would say this but I have bought a site on eBay.
It is not anything special or unique, its a content site with a nice cms system and a really nice and clean look. The domain is TheRelationshipSource.com, unfortunately the site is not online now, because when I was going to move it to my server I discovered that my mySQL version was out of date.

 

This will be a good source of income I think and it will be an experiment site for Adsense.

 

New partnership and site
I have teamed up with my fellow entrepreneur David Lithman, for a new project.
I will announce the site soon, but I can tell you now that both myself and David are very excited about this one and we are planning to launch it in the beginning of October.

 

Need to update mySQL
The other day when I was going to install some new scripts and move a new site to my server I discovered that my version of mySQL was out of date, and those scripts could not run on that one.

 

I hate it when stupid things like this are holding me back, but fortunately I have  good people around me and the problem should be solved any day now.

Problems with my ISP
I have had problems with my ISP that I have for my home office, and it has really been time consuming to get everyting going so i have lost quite alot of valuable work time.

 

This company, ComHem is one of Swedens “largest” ISPs but they can not seem to deliver my ADSL connection without downtime each day. Freakin amateurs, I have quit my account with them now, but I have to wait 2 month before I can cut them off totally.

Lack of money
For different reasons both in my personal life and in my companies I have had to take it a little easy with investments and such the last 3 weeks, so most projects has been standing still unfortunately. But the luch is about to change, I have about $3000 coming in 7 days from now for investments, really looking forward to it.
I will buy some up and runnign websites to expand my network and also spend som money on marketing some of  my current websites.

 

My forums
Yeah I know, I have started a whole bunch of forums and I have not really been taking care of them as much as I should. To tell you the truth, my idea was to get all my forums ideas up and running, so they can grow organic and when I have the time and money I would take one forum at a time and really get that one going. I will still stick to this plan and these forums will be the ones I will focus on these coming months:

Forum Pal progress
Forum Pal is tagging along quite good, I have had some customers testing our service and so far all are happy with the results me and my writers has delivered.

Hosting Problems

As you migth have noticed, if you are a returning reader this blog have had a downtime of about 24 hours. I apologize for this and I am really pissed that the host did not fix it directly. This is the only site I do not host on my “own” servers so I had no control over it. I am thinking of moving it to one of my servers instead.

 

Nothing new ont business really lately, things are improving so thats positive.
I have a few motivational articles coming soon, that I will hope you will enjoy.

 

For new sites I have opened my blog for the Swedish market, so for you who know swedish you can go to www.andreasbard.se to see it. Yesterday I bought a domain I am kind of happy with, DrummerForums.com and it will be a forum for drummers (no kidding) .
