I am on a well earned vacation for 3 weeks with my fiance Elin. At the moment we are visiting Elins mother and uncle in Oxelösund, Sweden.

Today we visited Kolmården which is one of Swedens most famous Zoo’s. We had a great time and spent about 5 hours there.

Below you can see some pics from today.

Tigers
Some cool tigers.

Monkey
I found my twin brother and took him back home.

We will stay here for a couple of more days and after that our next stop is a cruise to Helsinki in Finland. I will do some updates for you but not as much business updates unfortunately.

A look at Power the web

Power the web

Today I am having a look at the web site of Power the web, which is a company that owns and operates a lot of different web sites in different niches which all are focused on usability and accessability.

Their web site has been setup to show all their current projects and I really like the way they are doing it. They currenlty have 23 projects up and running to show, and if you go to their web site and look to the right you see a whole bunch of icons, and each of these icons represents a web site project that they are operating. When you click one of the icons information about that project is shown to you.

Their portfolio contains a lot of different web sites with everything from entertainment sites like, Jokes R Funny to information sites like, Find a Zip.

Some of Power the Web’s web sites, like IconBurst, offers free content that might be useful to webmasters, so click the links and browse their web site to see if you find something that interests you.

So here we go again.

John Chow writes about how you should use press releases to your advantage. Even if I have not really used this for any of my websites I know for a fact that it is really effective, but not for any website, you probably got to have some kind of innovative and new things on your site if you want to get featured in some news paper.

My buddy David Lithman mentions a couple of reasons why your web site fails. This might seem like basic knowledge for anyone doing business online, but unfortunately it is not, so have a look at your web sites and see what you can improve and your traffic will most likely improve too.

Always try to work ahead is something Bob Buskirk wants to tell us. A great article with a few easy steps to better time management. Some of them I have mentioned before, like setting goals.

Ted and his Payperpost.com gets another $7 million in fundings.

Ted Murphy and his company PayPerPost, Inc. gets another 7 million dollars in fundings. This concept has been controversial from the start and Ted has had a tough time being an innovator, taking Internet advertsing to another level. There has been a lot of discussions about blog ethics but lately things have changed though and the blogvertise industry is starting to get more and more accepted among internet marketers around thw world.

PayPerPost.com with support from its advertisers and posties has proved that this is a company here to stay, something which investors now seems to have understood and are more than willing to put some cash in to this internet startup.

PayPerPost asked me what I think the should do with their money. Well, here is a few things:

  • Expand internationally.
  • Award your posties with higher paying opportunities and more contests
  • Build a function so that advertisers (read I) can pay with digital wallets like PayPal and such *hint* *hint*. Maybe $7 million is not enough for that?
  • I really love this company and even if I am getting paid to write this review, everything is 100% true. Below you can read the press release.

Blogging Marketplace Secures $7 Million Series B

Draper Fisher Jurvetson leads round and joins Board of Directors

ORLANDO, FL – (June 12, 2007) – PayPerPost, the leading marketplace for advertisers to reach bloggers and other consumer content creators, today announced it has completed a $7 million second round investment led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson, an investor in the company’s Series A and one of the world’s leading high-technology venture capital firms. The financing brings the total amount of capital raised by PayPerPost to over $10 million, giving the company considerable resources for further development as the industry’s leading Consumer Generated Advertising marketplace. Additional participants in the round include existing investors Inflexion Partners and Village Ventures as well as new investor DFJ Gotham. With this investment, DFJ Managing Director Josh Stein also joins PayPerPost’s Board of Directors.

“PayPerPost created this exciting new advertising space and has established itself as the industry leader,” said Ted Murphy, chief executive officer of PayPerPost. “Although we’ve only used a portion of our first round capital, this added support from investors unlocks significant growth potential. Our content creator and advertiser ROI metrics clearly demonstrate the upside for PayPerPost’s model. We intend to use this capital to build the infrastructure, visibility and professional expertise necessary to reach and retain a greater network of advertisers and content creators than ever before.”

Since its founding in June of 2006, PayPerPost has signed more than 6,500 advertisers to its groundbreaking service, which has enabled Consumer Content Creators to be compensated for their efforts discussing specific companies, products or services via blogs, videos or other media. The content creators are required to disclose relationships with advertisers on their blog, providing transparency for the end reader. Over 125,000 Internet postings, most in the form of blogs, have already earned money for their creators through PayPerPost’s innovative marketplace. PayPerPost recently released PayPerPost Direct, a disruptive new service that allows advertisers to contract and negotiate directly with individual bloggers they identify through a safe, managed system.

“PayPerPost has laid a strong foundation for the future,” noted Tim Draper, founder and managing director of Draper Fisher Jurvetson. “It continues to attract a critical mass of participants from both the advertising and blogging communities. Analogous to Overture’s sponsored search model, we believe PayPerPost’s business model holds disruptive potential and will enable the company to thrive in the evolving paid-content arena.”

To mark the $7 million dollar funding, PayPerPost has launched a new website detailing the company’s service offering at http://www.payperpost.com. Bloggers and advertisers can easily sign up at the site and begin leveraging the self service marketplace.

    Starting some old businesses again

    The Anand

When I first started out on my journey to freedom with my first company my business was a a local hosting and web development firm, and back then I did all the design myself, which was not something I wanted to do so I stopped doing it and focused on other ventures.

But with all the knowledge and great contacts I have now I have decided to get this division of my company going again. The first step is to start the local business here i Nynäshamn with the name, Nynäshamns Webbyrå where I will server the local companies and help them start or improve their Internet presence. I will offer them hosting, content writing, SEO, design and programming.

I have also decided to try out the hosting business international, and I know it is a tough industry with a lot of competition but I am willing to try it out with. For this purpose I have invested in the domain name AmazingHosting.net. I own AmazingHosting.biz and have had that domain for a couple of years so thought it would be nice to go on with the same brand and a .net is certainly more premium than the .biz so I would probably benefit from that.

I have some job left to do. I will focus on getting Nynäshamns Webbyrå complete and then I will get Amazing Hosting redesigned and up and running.

    Another batch of interesting posts.

Jane May wrote the very interesting article, Never Stop Innovating. She has some very good tips here, so I would recommend a read.

This guy knows what he is talking about, because he has done it. This time Nate writes about 5 types of blog posts that generate traffic. Some of the types he is mentioning I have tried out and according to my stats they do generate more traffic than others.

Shane tells you to be like (or maybe just think like??) Paris Hilton.

    A look at Glossary Script

    Glossary Script

Today I am presenting Glossary Script to you.

Glossay Script is a piece of software that makes it possible for you to start your very own dictionary online. This script has a big amount of great features and functions that are built in to help you get both traffic and revenue from your site.

For revenue the site has a perfect placement for ads, and as standard it use contextual ads like Adsense. It is up to you what to use there, but I would recommend Adsense or something similiar since you probably will get quite targeted ads to your sites niche and content.

For traffic the script has mod-rewrite implemented which gives you search engine friendly URL’s. As you probably know search engine optimization or SEO like it is also called is quite vital these days when it comes to building quality traffic and with search engine friendly URL’s you get a lot of help with your ranking in search engines like Google.com and Yahoo.com.

    Screenshot

The script is easy to setup and all you need is a webserver with PHP and mySQL installed and you can be setup and ready to go in about 15 minutes and if you are having trouble installling the script they are even ready to install the script for you for free. That is what I call a great service. The script comes with an easy to edit 3-tier design, which is very helpful if you want that unqiue look but do not have the skills to do it.

I see two main uses of this script. The first is to start a new niched site and add words to the dictionary in that niche. The second one is to add this script to your current site or blog and use it as a tool for your visitors and readers, and with that bring more value to it.

You can get the script for only $39.99 (click here to go directly to their order page)

    Handling Failure

Failure is something most of us have to deal with in our life, both in our personal life and in business and work situations. Failure should not be seen as something negative, instead you should learn from your failure, and the next time you try whatever you failed at, you use this new wisdom and go for it.

Do not be afraid to make mistakes
If you are starting a new venture or are looking to try out new things in life you are sure to make some mistakes. A small mistake does not make a failure alone, and should never be considered a failure. Make mistakes and learn from them and you will grow in competence in whatever it is you do.

    Take risks
I use to tell people “You got to bet to win”, which simply means that you got to take some risks if you are going to succeed, and on the road to success there are many wrong turns that leads to failure but that should not scare you. Dare to do something different and you are more likely to succeed than your neighbour sitting in front of his TV complaining all day long. If you are failing at least it shows you are trying to accomplish something.

See it as a learning process
As with all that is new for us we discover obstacles along the way as we work with it, and because of this you should take it as a learning process where you get valuable feedback to your own capabilities and your ventures possibilities. It is a known fact that we humans learn from failure. Keep trying until you find out what works and what does not work.

    Keep a positive attitude
Always aim to keep a positivt attitude to your failures. Do not let the negative sound of the word send shivers down your spine, there should be no shame in failing even if that is what is taught to most of us. Do not mind what other people say or think if they can not give you any constructive feedback to help you improve.

A good thing is to ask yourself “What good comes out of this situation?” and “What can I do better next time?”. By putting yourself against the wall with some questions you get to move on, and put the failure behind you.

So any final words to this article? Yes. DO NOT GIVE UP

    Tired of Spywares?

Tired of Spywares attacking your computer messing things up? Then the Spy Sweeper can be your savior, since it helps you detect block and remove any spyware on your computer with its

The problem with spyware grows every day and nowdays it is hard to surf only one day without running into a dangerous spyware program. This is serious stuff, especially if you use your computer for your day to day business operations and have a lot of sensitive information about your company, clients and products on your computer. If such information leaks out or is destroyed your compnanies future can be destroyed.

Why should you use Spy Sweeper?

This software is one of the most complete anti-spyware programs, and it gives you a full protection for all possible spyware threats that can strike you and your computer and with the programs advanced detection capabilities no spyware should go undetected at any time. The software also has a system where it protect you from already known spyware programs before they can infect your computer and with this you are a lot more safe since the risk of being infected decreases dramaticly.

The license price for 1 computer starts at $29.95 and I think that is a reasonable price, and definitely if you compare with all the headache you get when your computer is infected. It is totally worth it, so take a look.
